Our commitment to sustainable growth

Sustainability is an essential part of SKG’s strategy and guides the way we create long-term value for people, customers, and the communities where we operate. For the Group, responsibility and growth go hand in hand and require vision, a systematic approach, and the ongoing engagement of stakeholders.

In 2024, we took a significant step forward with the publication of the Group’s first Sustainability Report, drafted voluntarily and inspired by the ESRS Standards. This milestone marks the beginning of a structured process aimed at progressively integrating ESG issues into decision-making and operational processes, thereby strengthening transparency and awareness.

Throughout the year, we consolidated our governance frameworks and promoted a corporate culture based on integrity, safety, and respect for people, including through the update of the Code of Ethics and the strengthening of management systems. At the same time, concrete environmental initiatives were launched, focused on reducing impacts and promoting a more efficient use of resources.

Dialogue with employees, customers, suppliers, and local communities remains central to guiding our decisions. Materiality analysis has been a fundamental tool for identifying priorities, risks, and opportunities that will guide future actions.

We are convinced that sustainability is a key factor in the Group’s competitiveness, innovation, and resilience. We will continue to translate our commitments into measurable actions, creating shared value throughout the entire value chain.

Our Approach to Sustainability

SKG’s sustainability aspects are considered and analyzed throughout the entire value chain, evaluating both the activities carried out directly by the Group and those upstream and downstream.

The analysis of environmental, social, and governance impacts takes into account the various operational phases—from raw material sourcing to production processes, through to relationships with customers and local communities—with the aim of identifying the most significant areas and guiding the company’s strategic decisions.

sustainability

Sustainability is therefore integrated into SKG’s strategy and is supported by a governance system that ensures its oversight. The Board of Directors oversees ESG issues, while the various corporate policies, management systems, and control mechanisms help ensure consistency between strategic direction, risk management, and operational activities. Furthermore, roles dedicated to sustainability have been formally incorporated into the company’s organizational chart since 2024.

In preparation for the first sustainability report covering the 2024 fiscal year, SKG conducted a double materiality analysis in accordance with the methodology set forth by the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards), identifying the environmental, social, and governance issues most relevant both to the company’s impact on people and the environment and to the financial risks and opportunities associated with ESG factors.

The double materiality analysis serves as the foundation for identifying the company’s sustainability priorities, for ongoing monitoring, and for guiding initiatives in the medium to long term.
